When he's not touring with The Eagles, one of musician Don Henley's favorite places to relax is at Caddo Lake. The naturally-formed swamp straddles the Texas-Louisiana border. Don grew up nearby and caught his first fish there and is actively involved in efforts to preserve Caddo. More

Love the man...his voice...his music & his politics.

Much respect to another drummer and singer, Larry Lee, who remains true to his beloved Missouri roots, as well! Spaceship Orion's there, hovering above it all!!

Don, this is Lisa. I broke the flashlight while camping at Lake Caddo. It is the darkest spot on earth at night when the moon does not shine! The "tannic" waters are so unique! It's erie and beautiful at the same time! Sends chills up my spine, as does your music!!!...Hint, always bring backup flashlight..... :-) Hooo Hooo witchy woman comes to mind!

Thanks for this footage, Don! My 80 yr old mom, "La", grew up in Longview and currently works at Lover's Lane Antique Market. Be nice to her! I studied Biology, then Pharmacy. Natural Medicinal Chemistry, (Pharmacognosy) is no longer taught! I find this quite ironic. My wife, Lisa, lived in Gilmer. Privacy is of concern and respected! We journey to Oahu next week to visit my brother, nephew, and to study it's ecosystem! Mr Cousteau should be there as well. Thanks for your conscience and help!

Don Henley is not a left winger, he is a moderate progressive. And whatever God's plan of salvation was, that is certainly man made.
jc37015 Says:
Spoken like a true, mother earth, dope headed left winger. I don't think his method will pass on Judgment Day. I don't think "I worship the Lake" was God's plan of salvation.

Great musician and songwriter. Love his music. Can't stand him though. Typical bleeding-heart liberal. Burning Don Felder like that......poor class.

Thanks for sharing this Don. It is nice to see a man who has experienced such wealth and fame reflect on what is really important in life. May you and your son spend many more hours out on Caddo Lake together.

Beautiful ! Don : if you read this. The Redwood Forest West Coast Ca is MY church. God stands before you in these trees. They are 3 Thousand years old, that eco system. It kills me that someone (actually a bad texan) clear cut them. he needs to be strung up and..... you oughta check them out. I can be your guide. You're music is Timeless and Godlike to me also. You are a poet and a prophet. IMHO. Caddo lake Rocks ! Thanks for posting this !

@unlikeanyotherhuman I believe he is a supreme narcissist and he acts it. I can not stand to see him interview he is so full of himself. However, he is a very talented musician.
ChiroQuacker Says:
i wish i was there right now...but due to my horrible karma..well deserved on my part..i am in a cell without bars...probably for the best.

My neighbour looks Henley very much xD
IEKUKATAKA Says:
In spite of his tree hugging dialogue, he is a rotten son of a bitch, an egotistical ass and would cut your throat for a dime.

Good stuff!

I thought my Dad was a walking Discovery channel when it came to Caddo, but he's met his match - LOL , We went there so many times w/ our Dad. As a child growing up in East Texas, Caddo was definitely unique. The cypress trees and alligators made Caddo seem spooky, but as Don pointed out, there is so much more - and I believe it's the only natural lake in the state of Texas. I was so impressed w/this I had to send it to my Dad on Facebook. Thank you for sharing that.

I hate bleepin' Don Henley, man. Not because he's an arrogant, greedy, self-important, pompous turd. No, it's because he ate Joe Walsh! The scenery is gorgeous, though.
alzsongs Says:
Nice place. Don Henley is one of the best male vocalists around i think personaly.
LazzariJ Says:
I have this too Don it's called Park Hall Lake !

OMG, I noticed that as well, so what, he does have awesome hair I wish I had a hair line like he has..

They (the Eagles' lawyers) seem to be keeping nearly all of Henley and the Eagles music off Youtube. Damn shame in my view! They've made more than enough off me (I've purchased every album they and Don ever made, plus 3 tours) and the millions of other Eagles/Don Henley fans have done so too. ...It was a nice 2-3 year run of getting to watch them do their thing on Youtube. I especially loved seeing Randy and Bernie along with Glenn and Don. That was the original group and the one I miss most.
smittyanddonsgoddess Says:
How many months along is Don in this video?? Just kidding! His pot belly is adorable much like all he does, says, and how he looks!!!
